Los Angeles police are probing a disturbing series of sex crimes but they haven't been able to identify the suspects, the victims, or even where the attacks took place. A package containing 100 hours of video footage of severely disabled women being sexually assaulted was dropped off at Los Angeles County Sheriff's headquarters, and authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspects, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The victims appear to be both mentally and physically disabled. The footage is believed to have been shot in residential care homes and most of the 10 attackers are believed to be employees, although at least one attacker—who removed his victim's diaper and his own before the assault—was disabled. The footage came with a note explaining that the files came from the computer of a man who commissioned the tipster to scrub his hard drive. Police are urging the tipster to come forward, stressing that he won't be in any trouble and he will be allowed to remain anonymous.
