Sports | Ottawa Senators Thrashers Rally, But Can't Catch Senators, 6-4 Underdogs score 4 goals in third period, but comeback falls short By Max Brallier Posted Nov 2, 2007 6:38 AM CDT Copied Ottawa Senators' Daniel Alfredsson, top, pushes Atlanta Thrashers Ken Klee to the ice during first period NHL hockey action in Ottawa on Thursday Nov 1, 2007. A hat trick by Ilya Kovalchuk and another goal from Eric Perrin gave the Thrashers momentum heading into the game's final minutes with a two-man advantage, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. But that's where the comeback stalled, and the Sens netted an empty net goal to send the Thrashers packing. "It was a heck of a period we played, but unfortunately the game is 60 minutes," said interim coach/GM Don Waddell. "You spot [Ottawa] five goals, it's tough to come back."
