In Ruth Madoff's eyes, the death of son Mark is all husband Bernie's fault. "Her wrath is aimed at her husband," a Madoff biographer tells the New York Post, citing family friends. He adds that Ruth is "totally disgusted with" Bernie and "thinks this is the end of the family." Mark Madoff hanged himself exactly two years after his father's arrest. The family doesn't think Bernie is "going to survive this," the biographer adds.
"It has made him realize what this whole thing has all been about. It's a Greek tragedy," he continues. Meanwhile, friends shed light on Mark's state of mind before the suicide. He "was broke, and every time we went to dinner with [him and his wife] we paid," says one, adding that Mark canceled dinner plans the night before he killed himself. Early that morning, he sent emails to his wife Stephanie saying, among other things, "No one wants to hear the truth." Click for more on Mark Madoff's suicide.
