Dubai: Plane Bomb Looks Like al-Qaeda

The US-bound mail bomb discovered yesterday in Yemen had al-Qaeda's fingerprint on it, Dubai officials say, having been packaged in a "professional manner" and containing the same explosive as the failed Christmas bombing. "The plot style carries features similar to previous attacks carried out by terrorist organizations like al-Qaeda," Dubai police said.

The white powder PETN was packed inside the ink cartridge of a printer, which was wired to an electric circuit and a cell phone chip, reports the AP. Dubai authorities say they were tipped off to the threat of a mail bomb aboard the FedEx flight that originated from Yemen by a call from abroad, though they did not specify the location.
